When you receive one player

Identify the starter the incoming player would replace. Then review the two outgoing players: were they interchangeable reserves or cover for different roles? Losing two useful replacements changes the meaning of the starting improvement.

Check the slot you free. You can fill it only if your league’s rules and market permit it. Do not count a possible later acquisition as already available: make it an explicit condition to check.

02 / 04

When you receive two players

Ask whether each has a function. Two reserves you will not use do not necessarily replace an important starter. Check whether you need to free another slot and which player that would displace.

03 / 04

Case A: concentrating quality

Fictional example: you give two forwards who compete for the same reserve place and receive a forward you would start. You keep adequate cover and leave no other role unfilled. The proposal may suit a “Starters” priority, subject to availability and the process for completing your squad.

04 / 04

Case B: a hidden loss

You receive the same starter but give your only defensive replacement and your only midfield replacement. The number of names is identical to case A; the squad effect is different. You lose two distinct cover options, and one absence may leave a required role unfilled.

Record the depth reduction and any uncovered role in the evaluator. Do not let a positive starter assessment cancel that problem.

Frequently asked questions

Is it better to receive the one or the two?

It depends on usable slots, replacements and your objective. The structure alone does not determine value.

Is a freed slot always an advantage?

Only if you can use it effectively and within the rules. A closed market can leave it as a gap.

How do I compare a two-for-one with a one-for-one?

Use the comparator with the same starting squad and assess both final lineups.
